Getting Started
Working with Bidders

It's important to have consistent, continuous contact with potential buyers. In fact, you should treat every eBay Motors buyer like an "up" on your showroom floor, considering each email, phone call or bid to be a potential sale.

During your listing, bidders compete against each other, so they want quick responses to their questions about your vehicle, price and terms. If they don't hear back from you, they're likely to move on to the next listing.

TIPS & TRICKS:
Top Sellers communicate with bidders throughout the entire process to pre-empt problems, to up-sell and to build buyer trust.

It's not uncommon for some customers to bid on your vehicle without contacting you. Try getting in touch with ALL bidders to make sure they are financed, able to complete the transaction and fully understand your Terms of Sale (including tax, title, license and shipping terms).

Sending an email to anyone who has bid on your vehicle is simple. Clicking on the "Bid History" link on your listing page will take you to the Bid History page, where you'll find a list of all the potential buyers who've bid on your vehicle. You can then contact any of them by simply clicking on their user names.

In addition to verifying buyer interest, you'll find that customer contact also helps cultivate leads, generates more sales at higher margins and up-sells revenue-boosting products such as service agreements and financing options.
